Privacy Policy

How the current USTaxes.se website handles personal data—and what must be updated before additional data-collecting features go live.

Last updated: September 4, 2026
Pre-launch note: This policy reflects the current static version of USTaxes.se. Before enabling email collection, analytics, advertising, expert matching or other third-party services, update this page with the actual providers, legal operator and contact details.

1. Who is responsible for your data?

USTaxes.se is the website responsible for the processing described in this policy. The legal entity operating USTaxes.se, its postal address and a dedicated privacy contact will be inserted here before the public launch.

2. What the current site collects

The current pre-launch version is primarily a static informational website. The newsletter and “Find Tax Help” email fields shown on the site are placeholders and are not currently connected to a system that stores or sends the submitted address.

When the website is hosted publicly, the hosting infrastructure may automatically process normal technical information such as IP address, request time, browser/device information, requested URL and server/security logs. This information can be necessary to deliver and protect the website.

3. Third-party resources currently used

The current site loads web fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those resources, the third-party provider may receive technical request information such as your IP address and browser information. Before launch, USTaxes.se should either document the relevant provider here or replace externally hosted fonts with a privacy-minimizing alternative.

4. Cookies and analytics

USTaxes.se does not currently include its own analytics or advertising scripts in this static build, and no USTaxes.se marketing cookie system is currently configured.

If analytics, advertising, embedded media or other technologies are added later, this policy and any required cookie/consent controls will be updated before those tools are used.

5. Future email and expert-matching features

If USTaxes.se enables newsletters, waitlists, contact forms or expert matching, we may need to process information such as your email address, your message and the tax-topic categories you voluntarily provide.

Before those features are activated, this policy will identify the purpose, legal basis, service providers, retention period and any relevant international data transfers.

6. Legal bases

Where the GDPR applies, personal data must have a lawful basis for processing. Depending on the future feature, that may include consent, performance of a requested service, compliance with a legal obligation or a legitimate interest that does not override your rights and freedoms.

7. How long data is kept

Technical server logs should be retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting and operational purposes, subject to the configuration of the hosting provider. Any future mailing-list, contact or referral data will receive a specific retention rule before collection begins.

8. Sharing and processors

USTaxes.se does not sell personal data. In a future production service, data may need to be processed by providers that help operate the site—for example hosting, email delivery, analytics, forms or professional matching. Those providers will be described here when they are actually used.

9. International transfers

Some service providers may operate outside Sweden or the European Economic Area. If USTaxes.se uses such providers to process personal data, the applicable transfer mechanism and safeguards should be assessed and documented.

10. Your GDPR rights

Depending on the circumstances, GDPR rights can include the right to receive information, access personal data, correct inaccurate data, request erasure, restrict processing, object to certain processing and receive portable data. Where processing is based on consent, consent can generally be withdrawn without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

11. Security

USTaxes.se aims to use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the information being processed. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

12. Children

USTaxes.se is intended for adults dealing with U.S. tax and financial-compliance questions. We do not intentionally design the site to collect personal data directly from children.

13. Changes to this policy

This policy will be updated as USTaxes.se moves from a static educational prototype to a production website. The “Last updated” date will change when material changes are made.

14. Contact

Required before launch

Add the legal operator name, postal address and privacy email/contact method here before the website begins collecting personal data.
